The Streaming Giant Selects Perfect Actor for Bentham in One Piece Third Season
Baroque Works is poised to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the real showdown isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced recently that the skilled actor will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bon Clay. This character has the ability to transform into an exact copy of anyone they’ve made contact with with their main hand. Escola, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will portray a rendition of that figure re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action show, as in the initial comic and cartoon version.
Escola will work alongside a number of new cast members who will portray the group to the screen, including head the main antagonist, brought to life by the seasoned performer, an emerging star as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.
Although the role is a major member of the group, the character will be introduced in One Piece season 3. Considering season 2 expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this signals a notable change in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could indicate further changes to the narrative framework.
The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the character. In addition to their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is due to premiere for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
