Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Sports Personality Prize

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.
The trio have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the last year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.
The champion will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on the 18th of December.
The event will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She entered the fray to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - at just 17 years old - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a highlight for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin finished second in the run-scoring charts and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
